Trials information

Come and see us at freshers fair (26th September) to sign up to trial or fill in the form that will be shared on our instagram (@durhamuniswimming) if you would like to trial.

You will be allocated a time and date. This will either be on Thursday
28th September between 6:30am-8am or Monday 2nd October between 6:30am-9am.

There will be more information about trials at our stall at freshers fair but if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us.

Trials will be at Freemans Quay swimming pool. We're looking forward to meeting you!

Once signed up to trials, you will be emailed with your timeslot. Make sure to be on time! Make sure to let us know as soon as possible if you can't come at your designated time and we will do our best to change it for you

If you've not been to this pool before, please give yourself enough time to find your way without being late. Several members of the DUSC exec will be there, and one of us will be posted at the entrance to Freemans Quay.

Once you've arrived at your designated time slot, you will be directed to poolside.

You will get to do a short warm up before we trial you and changing rooms are available to use before and after your swim.

If you sign up to trials, this information will be emailed to you.

What can I expect at trials?

These trials will take place at Freemans Quay, where the club trains for most sessions (postcode: DH1 1SW). There is parking available in the multi-storey next to Freemans Quay.

Where is Freemans Quay?

DUSC is primarily a competitive club. However we do offer something for swimmers wishing to keep fit, get back into swimming or just wanting to enjoy the social side of the sport. We currently have two squads (performance and development) to accomodate as many people as possible. There will be trials for both squads but when signing up for trials you will be able state which squad you would like to trial for.

There are no time requirements for our squads - allocation depends on general ability as well as the standard of other trial swimmers, as we have a maximum squad occupancy.

Trials are very relaxed and you will be put in a session with people who have similar experience to you, so don't worry!

If in doubt, trial!
