Meet our captain Flora! Flora has been an active member of DUSC since her first year and is keen to work hard to continue the growth of the club both competitively and socially!

Meet our captain Grace! Grace has been a enthusiast member of DUSC and has experience working on the exec as social sec last year. She wants to make sure everything at DUSC runs efficiently throughout the year, especially in the lead up to our competitions!
 
The captains are responsible for communication between team Durham, the coaches and us the swimmers. They sort out trials and competitions throughout the year, which include BUCS and BUSL

Grace and Flora will work together to ensure the best for all the swimmers in DUSC
.

Secretary

Adam Tabernacle

Year: 2
Subject: Biology
College: Stephenson

Favourite Event: 100 Freestyle
Favourite Memory: Making individual finals at LC BUCS.

Meet our secretary Adam. Adam was a key member of the team last year, taking part in every BUSL and making many finals at BUCS. 

As secretary, Adam’s main roles are administrative but a lot of his responsibilities involve assisting the captains where needed
. His aim is to help the club run as smoothly as possible over the next year.

Treasurer

Josh Prowse

College: Stephenson

Favourite Event: 200 Freestyle
Favourite Memory: Getting the club to sing Bohemian Rhapsody at John Snow bar's karaoke.

Meet our treasurer Josh. Josh joined DUSC last year quickly becoming a key member within the team. 

As treasurer, Josh is responsible for sorting out DUSCs finances. He wants to make DUSC as accessible as possible for everyone. Josh is open to talk to anyone who has any questions or needs help with anything regarding finances.

Media Sec

Daisy Widdowson

Favourite Memory: Our team Christmas dinner at Spags.

Meet our media sec Daisy. Daisy took part in both SC and LC BUCS last year and has been working hard our the social media pages. 

As media sec Daisy is reasonable for all social media accounts, sponsorship and any charity events. If you have messaged the DUSC page you have been talking to Daisy!

Kit Sec

Becca Augier

Favourite Memory: Shaving my initials into Morgan's leg at BUCS.

Meet our kit sec Becca. Becca joined DUSC last year during preseason and continued to be an active member of the team throughout the year.

As kit sec, Becca organises all the kit within the club, including new designs for swim hats, costumes and new stash!

Social Secs

Anna Beaton

Year: 2

College: Trevelyan

Favourite Event: Anything that's not Butterfly or Breaststroke!
Favourite Memory: Jumping through a tree in a unicorn onesie - no I can't explain.

Meet one half of our social sec Anna! Last year Anna took part in all the socials and has lots of ideas for next year! She aims to make socials enjoyable for everyone and bring the team together.

Steph James

Year: 2
Subject: Economics and Management
College: Grey

Favourite Event: 200 Backstroke
Favourite Memory: Winning the ou et le poulet social!

Meet the second half of our social sec Steph. Steph was an enthusiastic participant on every social last year and cannot wait to have fun with everyone this year. She aims to create socials where everyone can blow off some steam and most importantly have fun!
Together the social secs work to organise all of our regular Wednesday socials throughout the year, as well as our pre and post BUCS and traditional socials.

Men's Welfare

Morgan Taylor

Favourite Memory: The post BUCS social.

Meet our men’s welfare Morgan. Morgan joined DUSC last year and has been a big character within the team ever since. 

As men’s welfare, Morgan aims to make sure every member of DUSC feels safe, comfortable and happy. He is a friendly character and would like all swimmers to feel happy to come to him with any problems.

Women's Welfare

Viviana Pokluda

Year: 3

College: St Cuthbert's

Favourite Memory: Taking part in the Great North Swim

Meet our woman’s welfare Viv. Viv is an international student from Prague where she began her swimming journey. She joined DUSC last year and has been a vital member ever since. 

As woman’s welfare, Vivs main role is to provide a friendly and safe space for anyone to go to if they need someone to talk to. Viv wants to ensure DUSC is a safe and comfortable space for swimmers to continue their love of the sport.

S&C Sec

Madeleine McCormack

Favourite Memory: Bus back from SC BUCS.

Meet our S&C sec Maddie. Maddie was late to start competitive swimming but found DUSC to be a welcoming and friendly environment.

It is her role to organise and run each strength and conditioning session, and wants to help everyone get stronger throughout the year
